The Aims of the Patient Participation Group
The Patient Participation Group consists of eight patients of the surgery who live in the representative areas in which the surgery provides primary healthcare to.
The group members meet with key members of the Burnhams Surgery to monitor the effectiveness of the surgery’s services to its patients. The intended role of the group is to; act as a sounding board regarding future plans or ideas, and feedback to staff a representation of the users views of services provided and where appropriate suggest alternative solutions to enhance provision. The PPG are a valued communicator between the community and the practice.
The PPG also assists the surgery by:
- Coordinating information for the surgery’s newsletter, and other locally publicised information.
- Being actively present at the surgery, providing guidance and support to our patients.
- Assisting patients with new technology systems at the surgery.
- Offering administrative help.
- Helping the surgery achieve their enhanced services.
The group will not discuss the interactions between a patient and their doctor, the discussions relate to the administration of the practice in its contact with patients.
